This fall I am starting a new preschool program, Little Makers, once a month on Saturday mornings. All of our preschool-only programs have been during the week, so I wanted another option for parents who work and a chance to explore making and STEAM with the little ones. When I was planning the program, I borrowed a lot of ideas and inspiration from Carissa (seriously, she’s gonna think I’m getting creepy), and other art/stem preschool program rockstars (Kendra, Amy).

After attending a New Media Training this spring, my goals included increasing our use of new media (ipads) in our programs and serving as a media mentor to our patrons. With that in mind, I planned a new media evening storytime, and advertised it as a way to learn about quality apps and how to use them with your kids.
Music & Movement is a preschool movement program that I just started, based on a program I volunteered with when I was in library school. The kids love it, the parents love it, and I love it. Plus, I can count it as my work out for the day!
