Our current storywalk is the most popular yet! The Snowy Day is one of my all time favorite books, and one that I read to almost every kid under the age of 5 in town in December. It seemed like the perfect choice for our next storywalk!
Since we take a few weeks off from programs over winter break, I wanted an activity that was a little more involved to have set up as a stealth program for kids and families who were coming in.
I was a little worried at first about a mess with paper scraps, googly eyes, and pipe cleaners left out, not to mention glue sticks! But it worked out really well, there has been minimal mess and a HUGE amount of enthusiasm for this station.
Tons of kids (and even some grownups!) have gotten into building snowmen. We have to refill the supplies pretty frequently, but other than that it is very easy.
The only downside? Every time I even THINK about the exploration station or storywalk, I start singing the song in my head… (You’re welcome)
